information
1. Favourite medical web sites
To start off with, these are some important medical web
sites which have my stamp of approval. If you have any sites you think
I should check out, please email me david@dr-green.co.uk
.
General search engines and useful medical sites
Google
This is my personal
preference all round web search engine. It always seems to come up with
the goods!
Dogpile
This is another excellent web search engine which actually
searches most of the other search engines. Try it out!.
Doctors.net.uk
The new media publication for UK doctors. Lots of links,
medical news, free email addresses, fora (especially for anaesthetists)
and so on and so on. You will need to register and this requires a GMC
number or unique number for medical students.
AnaesthesiaUK
AnaesthesiaUK is
endorsed by The Royal College of Anaesthetists and The Intensive Care
Society for its role in education. The College and ICS sites may be
viewed by clicking on their respective icons. It's an excellent website
with many links to other organisations' materials.
Most of the following
(and lots of other) journals are available via KCL
either using Athens or on site
The Electronic British
Medical Journal
This is an excellent resource. The BMJ was one of the
first journals to go on line and have free access to all. Unfortunately,
no longer. However, for KCL students and staff it is available via KCL
ejournals.
The
New England Journal of Medicine
The premiere US medical journal. As above for access.
Journal of
the American Medical Association
JAMA is available as above.
The Lancet
An excellent, well established journal in electronic form.
Archived back to the first issue in 1823!
The
Royal College of Anaesthetists
This site is useful to anaesthetists and also has an excellent
general medical links
page. One of the best!
2. Teaching Archive and K.C.H. Teaching
programme
This part of the site provides on line access to some current
and past teaching material which was used in the student groups.
2. Abdominal Firm Teaching programme. This
has now finished and below is the last announcement of the final session
of the firm in April 2009.
The
Third Year (2008- 2009) Abdomen Firm 8 at King's
(Dr.
Green)
.
The last meeting of the
firm was held on Friday, April 24th at 0800 in the Seminar Room.
The website
also contains other teaching materials
and links.
May
5th.
